Internal Family Systems Therapy Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful new approach that I believe is the cutting edge in psychotherapy today. It provides a way of discovering a detailed map of your psyche that includes all your parts or subpersonalities and their inner conflicts. It also allows you to access your core Self which has the qualities of compassion, curiosity, and calmness. From this center, you can resolve inner conflicts and learn to access hidden subpersonalities that hold pain from childhood. The Self then forms healing relationships with each of these parts. The method is respectful of the positive intent of each part of you while helping you to develop the inner strength to heal each part and release its full potential. It includes an excellent way of dealing with your inner critic. IFS Classes: Self-Led Personal Growth in Community. Classes on IFS for self-help and peer counseling in community.
